I was born and raised in St Joseph, Missouri, a mid-western town on the Missouri river. I left that area in 1972 to serve in the US Air Force. First two years in San Antonio, Texas (where I met my wife) Then two more years at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas Nevada where I started my college career at UNLV. I was introduced to pottery there I haven’t been the same since. UNLV had an excellent ceramics department and I was soon majoring in Ceramics and throwing lots of pots. I finished my BFA degree and a masters degree in art education at NAU in Flagstaff Arizona .

I spent twenty-seven years working and living at Lowell Observatory as their grounds keeper where I maintained a ceramic studio and created a life for my family and myself. I taught ceramics for several years (part-time) at the Coconino County Community College.

I am now retired and living in Sedona Arizona where I am very happily making pottery full time.

Isn’t Life Grand ?
